10 Phrases when you feel sick
①Shindoi-desu
(I feel sick)
This is used to express that someone does not feel well. (I feel under the weather)
②Hakike-ga-shimasu
(I feel nauseous)
You can use this when you’re likely to throw up.
③Memai-ga-shimasu
(I feel dizzy)
You can use this when it is hard to stand or your surroundings are spinning.
④Atama-ga-itai-desu
(I have a headache)
Atama means head in Japanese. Even if you don’t know the part in which you feel the pain, you can say the word in English. Most Japanese know body parts in English.
⑤Itami-doh-me-wo-motte-imasuka
(Do you have a painkiller?)
You can say this when you feel something painful.
⑥Onaka-ga-itai-desu
(I have a stomach-ache)
Onaka means stomach in Japanese.
⑦Geri-no-kusuri-wo-motte-imasuka
(Do you have a medicine for diarrhea)
You should say this when you have diarrhea.
⑧Yattu-kyoku-wa-doko-desuka
(Where is a pharmacy?)
Japanese people call it a drug store as well. There are so many drug stores in Japan. Most pharmacies have a closing time (about 9 PM), however, there are 24 hour pharmacies available as well.
⑨Byouin-wa-doko-desuka
(Where is a hospital?)
You can say this when You should see a doctor.
⑩Kyu-kyu-sha-wo-yonde-kudasai
(Please call an ambulance)
You say this in an emergency. Hope you will not say this though. In case you or a fellow traveller have a mobile phone,the emergency number in Japan is 911.
