Saga Balloon Fiesta, It’s like Cappadocia in Turkey

This is one shot of  Saga Balloon Fiesta. This festival is held in Saga Prefecture at the end of October every year. Saga is located in Kyushu region.

This is an international festival of balloons (hot air balloons) to be held on the riverbed of Saga City as the main venue.

About 100 balloons will participate! The number of visitors during the event is over 800,000, the largest event in Asia. Most of the balloons participate in the competition. It is “Sky Sports”competition and the aim is to get as close as possible to the set destination.

As you know, the balloon does not have a device that can control an aircraft like an airplane propeller. They can only rise by sending warm air into the spherical shell and descent by discharging warm air inside the spherical shell outside. In order to move in a horizontal direction, the balloon is blown by the wind.

Of course, you don’t have to join the competition. You can just see balloons rising from the ground.

Moreover, there are lots of stalls, and you eat specialties of Saga prefecture. At the event stage,  you can also see concerts by musicians.
