Do you like owls? In Japan you do not need to visit a zoo or forest to see them. There are a few owl cafe’s where you can get up close to them. I will now introduce these cafe to you. Just to let you know, Fukurou means a owl in Japanese.

①AKIBA FUKUROU (Tokyo)
This owl cafe is a popular shop that got first place in the Fun & Games category on Trip Adviser in 2017. You can see 32 different owls. Besides Japanese, they provide you with guidebooks on Owls in three languages (English, Chinese and French). You can also have a photographer take your photograph with an owl and have it made into a postcard to keep as a souvenir. ②Fukurou no Mori (Kyoto)
This is not actually a cafe. It simulates a forest that looks like an owls habitat. You can see the snowy owl which was made famous by appearing in the Harry Potter films. You can easily visit there after visiting famous world heritage sites such as temples, shrines because it’s located in the center of Kyoto. Official site

③HUKULOU COFFEE (Osaka)
In this cafe, there are not only owls but also cats, rabbits and hedgehogs. It is located near Osaka station, so it is easy to get there. In order to enter the cafe, you have to take your shoes and wear socks.

④Fukurou no Mise (Fukuoka)
This is the only owl cafe in Fukuoka. You can touch owls and take a picture with them. The ticket fee includes a drink. If it is a weekday, it is highly likely that you will be able to enter, even without a reservation. Official site

⑤Owl-de-Base (Hiroshima)
In this cafe, you can see not only the owls, but also hawks and meerkats. Near the café there are the World Heritage Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Official site
