Himeji Castle is located in Himeji City in Hyogo. Another name, Shirasagi Castle. It was said that Tadanori Akamatsu founded this castle in 1346. Since then, it was kept by Mr. Akamatsu during the Muromachi period, and then Mr. Kodera maintained it during the Warring States period. Toyotomi Hideyoshi built a three-story castle tower here in Tensho 8 (1580) as a base for the conquest of the Chugoku region (Hiroshima, Okayama, Yamaguchi, etc).
The Beauty of Himeji Castle
Himeji Castle has been familiar to people since ancient times with a nickname of Shirasagi from an elegant appearance like a foxtail spreading its wings.
Brilliant white walls, the beauty of the elaborately built large tomb, is certainly a splendid contrast with other castles. You can see the castle with cherry blossom in April.
Inside of Castle
You can enter Himeji Castle, not only from outside, but also inside the building, such as a castle tower and a tower of Nishinomaru. When crowded, numbered tickets are distributed and occasionally there are restrictions on entry limits of up to 15,000 people per day. People who want to see inside the castle tower are advised to check the crowded conditions and go early.
